CMDHB Management Programme
A customised management training programme
comprising 10 workshops over 5 months delivered by CMDHB
specialist. All workshops have been designed in consultation with the
New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM) to ensure they reflect current
best practice both in content and delivery.
The programme will run three times per calendar
year, starting in February, May and July, with 20 participants completing each cycle of 10
workshops.
The following topics will be
covered in the workshops.
This will be followed by:
Reflection, Celebrations & where to next
(1/2 day).
Using constructive feedback and
other strategies to help
employees develop professionally
including learning and career
plans
Explores the importance and
practicalities of achieving
positive employee relations
which meet our partnership and
legal obligations.
To
develop the competencies to
manage budgets and other
resources, to understand
financial reports and meet
required financial reporting.
Understand and apply the basic
concepts, language and tools of
annual operational plans and the
links to CMDHB District
Strategic Plan

leadership, styles,

organisation structure

Strategic issues
nationally, regionally
Effectively manage the
performance development review
process for direct reports;
manage the transition from
performance development to
discipline
Recruit the right person for the
job making the best use of the
services provided by the CMDHB
Recruitment Centre; Select the
right person for the job using
effective selection strategy
Developing improved processes
and systems and employing
appropriate problem solving
strategies to convert challenges
into opportunities for quality
improvements.
Growing diversity in the
workforce is creating increasing
challenges for managers.
Understanding core values and
effectively communicating across
cultures, gender, age and talent
are now essential workplace
skills to integrate diverse
groups of people to achieve
common goals.
