Quitline - 0800 778 778
The Quitline is a national telephone helpline that provides advice to callers who wish to quit smoking. In addition to support and advice from Quitline advisors, subsidised nicotine replacement products are available. (Cost of $5 for one month supply). Tel:  0800 778 778   Website:  www.quit.org.nz

Aukati Kai Paipa
Quit Coaches provide quit smoking advice, brief intervention and intensive whanau support for Maori, usually within an 8 week 'cut down to quit' programme. Individual support is provided with Nicotine Replacement Therapy and Behavioural Cognitive Therapy. Fully subsidised cessation programme (i.e. free patches, gum and lozenges). Aukati Kai Paipa have services across the country.

Mangere Community Health Trust Pregnancy Service
Support and counselling is offered to pregnant women and their families who wish to be smokefree or to reduce their intake.
This can be home-based or at a clinic and is provided by Maori, Pacific and European staff. Subsidised Nicotine Replacement Therapy is available.

SMOKESTOP
SMOKESTOP is a New Zealand designed, online quit smoking programme at www.smokestop.co.nz which supports people through the quit process. Written by quit specialists Dr Andrew Lawson and Denise Barlow, SMOKESTOP uses eight simple sessions to prepare a quitter for being smokefree using an interactive process and email. It can be completed alone or with support from a friend or a health professional.

Txt2Quit is a way to help you quit smoking using your mobile. Getting TXT messages can help keep your motivation up and give you advice and support as you quit. www.txt2quit.org.nz

GP/PHO services
All GPs can now give out subsidy cards for nicotine replacement therapy (patches and gum) and many have services available to help patients to stop smoking.
