From 1 July 2007 residents from Otahuhu, south of Portage Road will be admitted to the CMDHB hospital services.

This includes:
  - Inpatient and Outpatient services
  - All GP referrals for Elective Surgical services.

The District Health Board boundaries REMAIN THE SAME, but CMDHB and ADHB have come to this separate agreement with regard to the residents of Otahuhu SOUTH OF PORTAGE ROAD.

Counties Manukau District Health Board boundaries

  • The boundaries of CMDHB are made up of the three local territorial authorities of Manukau City, Papakura District and Franklin District.
  • The northern boundary of Manukau City runs from the Tamaki Estuary along the boundary between the Auckland Golf Course and Kings College and north along Hospital Rd to Westfield Railway Station.
  • All suburbs north of this line INCLUDING Otahuhu are part of the Auckland District Health Board. This has not changed but from 1 July 2007 CMDHB will resume providing all services for the residents of Otahuhu.

Catchment Zone
CMDHB and ADHB have reinstated the agreement that all residents of Otahuhu East and West will be admitted to CMDHB provider services.  In effect this extends CMDHB’s catchment zone to Portage Road, Otahuhu (see map below).  This agreement with ADHB applies to all inpatient and outpatient services, but not community-based services apart from mental health.
